Tarina Paquin is an accomplished ballet and contemporary dancer, teacher, and producer working in diverse theatre arts projects. She has worked with some of Canada's world-renowned choreographers, including Wen Wei Wang, James Kudelka, Emily Molnar, Giocondo Barbuto, and Aszure Barton Simone Orlando and Joe Laughlin, among others.
During her professional training at Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, Tarina performed with the RWB Company in Romeo & Juliet, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and Moulin Rouge-The Ballet. She has toured to Holland with Arts Umbrella Dance Company and performing jointly with Noord Nederlandse Dans Company in Groningen and Rotterdam.
Tarina has danced at the Banff Centre's Indigenous Dance Residency Program, Jacob's Pillow Summer Dance Festival, Springboard Danse in Montreal, Ballet Kelowna, and WhoCreations. Tarina found her love of teaching as Program Director for Reflections Dance Studio, supervising seventy-plus students in the Elite Competitive Program. Touring extensively across Canada and the USA with Koba Entertainment for over 12 years, she continues an alliance as an Artistic Associate working on live theatrical productions from creation to realization.
Currently residing in Toronto, Tarina is a freelance dancer and teacher while working on her degree at Ryerson University in Creative Industries. Recent activities include the Canadian Opera Company's production of Rusalka and the title role in WhoCreations' dramatic ballet, Claudel. In early 2021, Cosmic Dreamer will be released, a music video by musician Barney Bentall, featuring Tarina as dancer and dance producer. Tarina continues to work on exciting theatrical productions, collaborating with other creators at home and abroad.
