Macayla Paris (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary performer, director, and creator based in Toronto/Etobicoke-Treaty 13. She is passionate about the creation of new work that illuminates social issues and strives to generate change through the process of collaboration with artists of all backgrounds and mediums. Since graduating from Sheridan College’s Music Theatre Performance program, Macayla has been developing new ways to approach, create and perform theatre pieces through collaborating with jazz musicians and multi-disciplinary performers with a goal to improvise together. Macayla is the co-founder of Theatre Oculus, Mississauga, and Etobicoke’s newest company with a goal is to re-imagine pre-existing theatre and musical theatre works through movement-based creation. With the world’s evolving civic climate, Macayla hopes to be apart of creative processes that challenge the boundaries of theatre through civic discussion in hopes to create a world for all humans and the natural world.
